CGN boat "Le Rhône"
In 2021, in partnership with Ballenegger SA and Murisier cabinetmaking, Bodenmann had the immense honor of participating in the restoration of a jewel of Swiss national heritage, the historic vessel “Le Rhône” of the Compagnie Générale de Navigation (CGN). This magnificent steam salon vessel, built in Switzerland in 1927, is not only an emblematic figure of the CGN fleet but also a living testament to Swiss history.
It was with profound respect for the historical identity of “Le Rhône” that we contributed our expertise to this interior renovation. We leveraged our artisanal skill to create round and oval tables from solid oak and cherry wood. These handcrafted pieces, characterized by their solidity and natural beauty, integrate perfectly into the vessel’s period ambiance while adding a touch of modernity.
In addition to these central elements, our contribution included the layout of the ticket office, the crew and captain’s cabins, as well as the meticulous cladding of the beams. Every detail was conceived and executed with precise care to preserve the authenticity of “Le Rhône,” while enhancing its comfort and functionality.
This project perfectly illustrates the union of craftsmanship and excellence that Bodenmann strives to achieve in every endeavor. By respecting and highlighting the heritage of “Le Rhône,” we have demonstrated our ability to combine tradition and modernity in perfect balance.
The restoration of “Le Rhône” is a project of which we are extremely proud. It underscores our commitment to heritage, our passion for exceptional craftsmanship, and our dedication to providing tailored solutions for unique projects.
